TAP stands for
Telecommunications Access Program. The TAP program is
through Missouri Assistive Technology and is for persons
with disabilities and is of no cost to the individual.
TAP for
Telephone: The phones are for people with low vision,
hearing or mobility related disabilities. In order to
receive one of these phones the person must have an
income lower than $60,000 for a single person or $65,000
for a couple, be a Missouri Resident and have a current
phone line. There are a number of different phones that
the person may choose from; a cordless to a red flashing
light that appears when the phone is ringing to large
numbers on the phone.
TAP for
Internet: This provides assistive computer equipment and
programs. Examples of these things are the mice with the
ball roller, programs that will speak the text to you,
etc. |
